Hey all - just curious

To those who might have the misfortune of reading my blog....

I'm trying to get ideas for my next essay and was wondering, what is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about the concept of "definitions"?

Writing Strategies:
Bass understands education as a goal in and of itself - to better understand what you believe and why- and not just as a mean to a goal - such as making more money. It is a response to the idea that college will make you successful in and of itself.

Exploring Ideas:
Probably the experience that most changed my concept of education is the realization that you can hear something being said millions of times, or even memorize it and parrot it back, but until you try to really understand it, and research it and try to say what you think about it and why it is right or wrong, you really don't learn all that much. But after you work at it, it becomes a part of how you think and actually starts to mean something to you.
